About me

I am a PhD candidate in Political Science at the Department of Government, Uppsala University. My research focuses on diplomatic norms and practices the unwritten rules of diplomacy. I am primarily interested in understanding how such practices are diffused and learned by diplomats. Diplomatic practices often have a significant impact on the policy output of multilateral institutions such as the EU, NATO and the G20, and it is thus crucial to understand how and why they vary across institutions in order to better grasp what it is that makes multilateralism 'work'. My research has been published in the Journal of Common Market Studies, the Review of International Studies and the Journal of International Relations and Development.

In addition to my PhD studies, I am also an associate fellow at the Swedish Institute of International Affairs (UI). Through my role at UI, I contribute with policy analyses to Swedish agencies, such as the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Swedish Armed Forces.

At the Department of Government, I teach International Relations at both the BA and MA levels. My supervisors are Anna Michalski (Uppsala University) and Ludvig Norman (Stockholm University). I will defend my dissertation in December 2023.
